An Acherus blade is a staple of any early death knight's arsenal, as it connects them with a useful minion: the Undead Thrall. As an action, you may target one humanoid corpse within 10 feet of you, as long as that target is visible, or obscured by dirt, converting it into a thrall for your use over the course of ten minutes. You may have a maximum number of Thralls under your control equal to half your proficiency bonus, (rounded down). A Thrall has the same statistics as a zombie, except it uses your proficiency bonus, has the same proficiencies as you, cannot make skill checks or take the help action, and has a strength score is equal to 12 + your wisdom modifier. An Acherus blade could theoretically be any type of weapon, as long as that weapon does not have the ranged or special quality.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
