A Divine Shard is literally a piece of divinity, maybe from a the leftover power of a dead god or the catalyst for the birth of a new one. It takes the appearance of a flawless gemstone; one which confounds and moves any those study it with its purity and perfection.
One who is about to attune to this item, is warned by a Solar descending from heaven that if they attune to this item, they will eventually become a god and be unable to dwell in the material plane. If they break attunement before that transformation happens, however, they will never be able to attune to the item again.
The shard follows you at a distance of 1d3 inches and bestows god like power. The shard is indestructible and immovable. It never follows in such a way as to impede you or get in the way, teleporting when necessary. You can make the stone go invisible as a bonus action.
The shard has the following effects:
Your AC goes up by 3, all your stats go up by 2, and your maximum for your stats also increases by 2.
Denial of the Simple
Any time the character is struck by a non-magical weapon or piece of ammunition, they can use their reaction to instead take no damage, and shatter the weapon to pieces.
Protect the Vessel
When the character takes damage of a specific type, they can use their reaction to gain resistance to that damage type. this resistance lasts until this feature is used again to change types. Alternatively, this feature can be used after a short or long rest.
Clear the Mind
You gain immunity to charmed, frightened and possession of any kind.
Cleanse the Body
As an action, you can end one condition of effect on yourself. Once you use this feature, you must complete a long rest before doing so again.
Every day at dawn make a Charisma saving throw, DC 15 On a fail, the DC goes up by 1, when the DC equals 20, attunement can no longer be broken. When the character fails a DC 25 saving throw, they are consumed by the shard and ascend to godhood and cannot be resurrected by any means, including true resurrection. If the character breaks attunement at any point, they can never attune to the shard again.
