-While your beast companion is within 100 feet of you,, as an action, you can see through your familiar's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any Special senses that your companion has

-While the beast companion is more than 100 feet of you there is still a connection between you. In case the companion is getting attacked or is in any kind of danger you are becoming aware of it as also the general direction he is (not distance)
