The Arcana Detector is used in the Darklands to detect Arcana Diffusion (AD) zones which may pose hazardous to organic life. The Meter is configured to monitor the area in a scale of 1-20. As the number rises, the potential for death increases as well. Remember to keep your Meter charged and on. You may recharge the meters by turning a wheel on their side rapidly four times.
Zones and their repercussions;
1 or Less: The AD is so minute that it does not hinder organic life around it.
2-8: AD in the area may pose a risk to organic health but those wearing a Hazardous Material Filtration Mask will be immune to the effects with a working filter. If you are not wearing a mask you must make a Con Saving Throw DC15 for every hour that you are in the zone. On a failed pass, the creature takes 2d6 Necrotic Damage. All Spells will require a Arcana Check (DC20) to see if they can be cast.
9-14: Your AD Meter will alert you with vibrant humming to attempt to gather your attention. AD in the area will pose a risk to organic health but those wearing a Hazardous Material Filtration Mask will be resistant to the effects with a working filter. If you are wearing a mask you must make a Con Saving Throw DC10 for every hour that you are in the zone. If you are not wearing a mask the DC increases to 20. On a failed pass, the creature takes 6d6 Necrotic Damage. All Spells will require a Arcana Check (DC20) to see if they can be cast.
15-20: Your AD Meter will bounce and hum to life as the atmosphere threatens to kill you wear you stand. AD in the area is volatile to organic health but those wearing a Hazardous Material Filtration Mask will be resistant to the effects with a working filter. If you are wearing a mask you must make a Con Saving Throw DC20 for every hour that you are in the zone. If you are not wearing a mask the DC increases to 35. On a failed pass, the creature takes 12d10 Necrotic Damage. All Spells will require a Arcana Check (DC20) to see if they can be cast.
