This weapon appears as a beautifully crafted javelin. The blackened steel tip, scarred with markings resembling lightning strikes, is attached to an intricately carved bone haft that features runic devices written in an ancient Giant dialect that read "Astrapē". "Astrapē", is a reference to a legendary Storm Giant who could control lightning bolts to devastating effect. When the javelin is hurled and the command word is spoken, it ignites with crackling blue-white energy and flashes towards it's target with the speed of a lightning strike.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. This weapon serves as a +1 Returning Javelin of Lightning.
When you hurl the javelin and speak its command word, it transforms into a bolt of lightning, forming a line 5 feet wide that extends out from you to a target within 120 feet. Each creature in the line, including the target, must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw. Each affected creature takes 4d6 lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. Once thrown, the javelin can be summoned back to an attuned user's hand by repeating it's command word.
The javelin's command word properties can be used once per day, recharging at the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a +1 magical weapon.
Proficiency with a Javelin allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
