Posted Feb 28, 2021Very interesting weapon! It should definitely be a rare or higher rarity though.
To have an uncommon item that can completely negate immunity or resistance to damage seems extremely powerful, especially since it has limitless charges. What I mean is, there is no penalty for using all the charges. All official magic items I've seen that have charges make you roll a die to see if the item is destroyed when the last charge is used. If you want to keep it at uncommon, I'd suggest removing the ability to overcome resistances and immunities. If you want to make it a higher rarity, feel free to up the damage, charges, or both!
Also, the wording for the warning ability is a bit off. Saying that "you can't be surprised, except when incapacitated by something other than non-magical sleep" means it can wake you up even if you were magically put to sleep if there is danger nearby. That means this weapon would negate any and all sleep spells cast at the party, since the spell being cast on you would imply hostile intent, if you weren't in combat already, and thus wake you AND ALL ALLIES WITHIN 30FT immediately. That is definitely NOT an uncommon item, given that and the other abilities it has.
