This magical weapon belonged to a parental figure with whom you have or had a strong bond. It in turn belonged to a parental figure of theirs, and so on. Just holding it reminds you of the wisdom they passed on to you, and that you can in turn pass on to others.
Once attuned to the weapon, the bearer is able to use the Guidance cantrip. In addition the weapon holds 4 charges. As a bonus action, you can expend a charge to cast the Heroism spell. As an action you can choose to use more charges - 2 charges to cast Heroism at second level, or all 4 charges to cast it at third level. Use your weapon attack bonus in place of the spellcasting ability modifier
If you roll a 1 on an attack with this weapon, your attack has failed in some basic aspect that your parent taught you in its use - or your foe's defence reminded you of a lesson that they either never had a chance to teach you or that you never mastered. You lose the confidence required to utilise either Guidance or Heroism until your next short or long rest, at which point you have had a chance to come to terms with and mentally reset from the mistake.
Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
