Wondrous Item, uncommon (requires attunement by a creature missing a hand or an arm)
This prosthetic appendage was developed by artificers of unknown origin. To attune to this item, you must attach it to your arm at the wrist, elbow, or shoulder, at which point the prosthetic magically forms a copy of the appendage it’s replacing.
While attached, the prosthetic provides these benefits:
- The prosthetic is a fully capable part of your body.
- You can take an action to remove the prosthetic, and it removes itself if your attunement to it ends. It can’t be removed against your will.
- Usually these limbs have a concealed weapon or a set of tools. These additional functions can be used at will.
- Unarmed strikes with this limb deal 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
- If the limb contains a weapon, that weapon uses 1d6 for damage, deals bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage (as decided during the limb's creation).
- The limb counts as a magic weapon for the purpose of overcoming damage immunities and resistances.
- Because the limb is not flesh and blood, it can be used for blocking blows and missiles; if the prosthesis is not carrying or holding anything, your AC increases by 2.
- Wearer has advantage on dexterity checks using that arm/hand (eg. tinkering, lock picking, etc.)
- Allows the wearer to carry heavy objects with ease, reducing effects of long travel by one level of exhaustion
- Grants advantage to Athletics tests that rely on that arm (eg. swimming, climbing)
