Weapon (longsword), common

Arming swords are one handed martial blades of considerable length. They are comparable to migration era viking swords or longer swords with hilts too short to be held to any advantage in two hands. Arming swords deal 2d4 slashing damage and, unlike long swords or short swords, do not have the versatile or light properties respectively.

Any creature that is proficient in long swords is proficient in arming swords.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

Notes: This weapon is not necessarily a magic item, but instead an additional base item to fill a gap between long swords and short swords needed for some settings. Most any magical modifiers that could be applied to long swords or short swords that don't rely on the versatile or light properties can be applied to an arming sword. Because of DDB's classification system, arming swords are registered as long swords. Disregard the inclusion of the versatile trait that comes with that fact., Versatile, Sap
