Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement by a by a Good or Neutral aligned creature)

Attunement: Yarengel is a blade with a mind of its own. It refuses to be brandished by anyone who does not have in its heart the will and the ability to do good. Creatures of evil alignment are unable to tune in to Yarengel, and creatures of good alignment are able to tune with the sword without having to go through a short rest.

Protection: Once wielded by a creature, Yarengel works to ensure its protection. Whenever Yarengel's user takes melee damage, the attacking creature takes 1d4 psychic damage as the blade itself lashes back to safeguard its wielder.

Connection: Once attuned to a creature, Yarengel and the creature in question have an intrinsic connection between souls. The creature attuned to Yarengel always knows the location of the sword, and if Yarengel is within 30 feet of the creature, with no structure or barrier in its path, the creature can summon Yarengel into its hands with a bonus action.

Drain: Yarengel, unlike most magic weapons, depends on its connection with its user to manifest its power. Therefore, to maintain its magical properties, Yarengel is constantly draining some of its user's life force and converting it into magical energy. When attuning to Yarengel, its user loses 2 maximum life points per level, this loss being permanent as long as he stays in tune with the sword.

Evolution: Unlike most magic weapons, Yarengel gains strength as its user strengthens. Yarengel gains new skills or improves existing skills when the user reaches certain levels, as specified below.
