Amphitrite is a sapphire ring that shines an ocean blue with engravings depicting dolphins in crashing ocean waves.
While wearing this ring you can breathe underwater and you have a swimming speed of 40 feet.
Amphitrite has 3 charges. While wearing it you can use a bonus action to expend 1 of its charges to cast animal friendship or speak with animals, or use an action to expend 3 of its charges to cast dominate beast, on creatures that reside in the water (fish, seals, dolphins, etc.)
Amphitrite regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn.
Queen of the Sea. Amphitrite aims to reclaim control of the Sword Coast and will award any adventurer who helps it achieve that goal. When the wearer completes a quest at the request of Amphitrite, it will either increase its number of charges or increase the level at which spells can be cast.
Sentience. Amphitrite is a sentient lawful good ring with and Intelligence of 15, a Wisdom of 17, and a Charisma of 16. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. It is Protector of sea life and will do everything in its power to fill that role.
Amphitrite can read and understand Common and Aquan, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. It speaks with a commanding tone as though it is accustomed to being obeyed. While you are attuned to it, Amphitrite also understands every language you know.
Amphitrite is prone to whistling sea shanties when it is becoming bored or impatient with its wearer. If it feels that the wearer has shunned a request, a conflict will occur between it and its wielder at the next dawn.
