This strange contraption resembles an elegantly crafted brass gauntlet with leather interior. It is fitted with a heavy three pronged claw attached to a length of wrought iron chain that is wrapped around the forearm like a spindle. A delicate winch system made of a confusing mess of steel and brass gears connects to a trigger on the interior. A bronze plaque adorns the wrist of the strange device, labeling it as "Yakupo's Claw of Swashbuckling".
This object has 4 charges which reset at dawn.
As an action the user can expend one of its charges and make a ranged weapon attack with the Claw at a target up to 40ft away. On hit a creature takes 1d4 piercing damage. If the claw strikes a wall, creature or object the claw latches on and as part of the same action the user can re trigger the winch system and cause the claw to retract. If the claw strikes an object of size medium or smaller it is pulled 30ft towards the user in a straight line. A creature pulled in this way may first make a dc 14 strength check to resist the pull. On a fail they are both pulled in and grappled by the claw. If the claw strikes a creature or object of size large or larger they are instead pulled up to 40ft towards that object in a straight line. While moving this way the user does not provoke opportunity attacks and can attack on with their offhand weapon or extra attacks as normal.
Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
