Autumn's Staff contains a reservoir of natural magic that can a sustain a cascade of falling leaves for up to 6 rounds. The attuned bearer may use an action to plant this weapon in the ground and activate this magic. While planted and not depleted, creatures within 10 feet of this weapon have the benefit of half cover due to the shower of billowing leaves.
When attuned to this staff and having it on their person, a small cluster litter of Autumn leaves skitter, skirt and encircle the bearer's feet. When they move the small cloud of Autumnal colored leaves trail behind their every footstep akin to the train of a dress. The leaves are mere spectral conjurings which fade after a moment and do not collect or pile up. One can use a bonus action to halt this effect if desired but it will return again with the dawn if not allowed to continue before then.
At dawn the staff regains 1d6 rounds of magical energy to its reservoir.
The bearer can use this item to cast the Light cantrip on itself at will.
Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
Notes: Versatile, Topple
