Alexa the Waking Blade is a nicked, pitted and rust covered longsword. The sword is still exceptionally strong and has good balance even for its poor physical condition.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic longsword, once attuned, regardless of what plane of existence you occupy.
This magic longsword also warns you of danger. While the sword is on your person, you have advantage on initiative rolls. In addition, you and any of your companions within 30 feet of you can’t be surprised, except when incapacitated by something other than nonmagical sleep. The sword magically awakens you and your companions within range if any of you are sleeping naturally when combat begins.
Outside of the Prime Material Plane, Alexa is a gleaming masterwork blade that pulses with a blue light when drawn. When attuned to and spoken to, by name, the sword can answer closed questions, yes or no, limited only by her vast knowledge of the known universe. The sword gives a stock answer to open questions or questions it doesn't know the answer to. Alexa does not have the ability to speak on the Prime Material Plane, instead she throbs once for "Yes" and twice for "No" or remains still for unknown or unanswerable questions.
Attunement cannot take place on the Prime Material Plane. The owner must know Alexa's true form to be able to attune to the weapon.
Alexa has a neutral alignment.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
