Wondrous Item, common
Since silk rope would actually be impractical (it is strong, but also rather elastic) and astronomically expensive... here's a medieval version of high strength rope that's plausible. 100 feet of braided quarter inch thick, long-card flax linen rope, with a wax and resin sizing (basically what they used for the strings on heavy crossbows). A bit stronger and tougher than half inch hemp rope, suitable for climbing and other dungeonesque duties. Weighs in at just under 2 pounds. Let's say it costs about 2gp, though historically it would have been even less.
