This sword has been infused with cruel and intelligent sentience by the drow master smith that forged it. It has been re-awakened by the slaying of a powerful foe. One of seven runes engraved in the black blade glows with a wicked amber light.
When you attack a creature with this weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, that target takes an extra 14 slashing damage. Then roll another d20. If you roll a 20, you lop off one of the target's limbs, with the effect of such loss determined by the GM. If the creature has no limb to sever, you lop off a portion of its body instead.
Slaying very powerful enemies has the potential to unlock more of the sword's latent power.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Damage: Slashing, Bonus: Magic, Maximize Weapon Damage, Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
