Weapon (war pick), very rare (requires attunement)

This smooth, enchanted piece of obsidian was originally sculpted for climbing. It has since been turned to a darker purpose.

You have a +1 to attack and damage rolls while wielding this weapon. Whenever the war pick hits an object or structure, the hit is a critical hit. If the object or structure is a vertical surface, the surface can no longer be climbed unless it is magically repaired, such as with the mending cantrip. In addition, if you hit a magically created object or structure, such as a wall of ice, with the war pick, you can choose to dispel the wall or object as if by the dispel magic spell (6th level version). The effect fails if the spell or magical effect that created the object or structure was cast using a 7th level spell slot or higher. Once the war pick has been used in this way, it can't be used again until the following dawn.

This weapon is cursed, and attuning it extends the curse to you. While cursed in this way, your climb speed is 0, and you cannot move across vertical surfaces even if a class feature or item would normally allow you to do so..

When Tenzing Hillary first entered the sacred grove, he was as ordinary as an adventurer can be. Armed with naught but his trusty Climbing-Axe, he had been carefully moving through the forest in pursuit of prey, and stumbled, quite literally, into a festival honoring the Fey queens. Tenzing immediately tried to back out, but was stopped by a hulking guardian. "No weapons at the party, Ser," the guardian grumbled, holding out a hand.

"I will need this back," Tenzing said pleasantly.

"It will be returned after the party."

Hillary continued to smile. "It is somewhat sentimental, you see."

"It will be returned."

"Thrice and done, friend. I must insist the axe be returned."

The guardian's expression grew sour. "Thrice and done, ser, your axe will be returned to you when the party is done."

Reluctantly, Tenzing handed his axe to the guardian, and entered the party. He did not want to offend the fey by leaving early, but with his trusty axe held until the party ended, he might as well enjoy his time here.

The party was like nothing he had ever experienced. To observe anything, Hillary discovered he had to wait. Lines of people would prevent him from properly hearing the music, or seeing the performances, or even getting a drink. He waited in a frustratingly long queue to watch a jaguar being led in a waltz by a mouse, though such a masterful and unique performance felt like it was well worth the wait. He moved towards a buffet (with food offered freely to guests at the party), and discovered that there was a meandering line to receive the food. After what felt like months, he finally received a full plate of food that was more delicious than he could have imagined. He wept tears of joy with each bite, unwittingly entering the list of Folk waiting to watch the queens perform their own unifying song.

Tenzing finished his plate of food as he arrived at the front of this line. The mere presence of the Queens drove him to his knees, and when they sang of Winter and Summer he could only be carried along with the song, as the power of the seasons sang to his soul more than his ears.

Hillary eventually returned to himself, to find the Queens staring at him curiously. The song, apparently, was done.

"We have not had the pleasure of your company before," Summer hummed.

"And you have not had the experience of ours," Winter hissed.

Tenzing Hillary had heard stories of Fey his entire life. He took great care in his next words. "I am honored by the Queens of the Feywild," he spoke. "May I bring you something, to show my gratitude for such a wondrous experience?"

The Queens shared a Look. They turned back to Tenzing as one.

"A drink of Punch, our thirst to quench," they spoke in unison.

Hillary immediately pulled himself to his feet and moved towards where he had seen a bowl of what looked like fruit punch. Focused on his goal, he found himself approaching the clear bowl rapidly. It seemed there was no punch line.

In fact, as he got closer, he realized he was mistaken; there was no bowl, and no punch. There was only a familiar object. When Tenzing Hillary touched it, he realized it was an Anti-Climb Axe.
