This trojan war style shield is made of brass and has Greek letters inscribed on the rim. The face of a medusa is formed into the center of the shield, causing chaos on the battlefield. Like any other shield, this item provides +2 AC when equipped.
If attuned, the user can use an action to reveal the shield, expending a charge and activating the magic of the Aegis Shield. Any creature that can you the shield in a 15-ft. cone in front of you must make an Intelligence saving throw (10 + half the user's level, rounded down). On a fail, the creature becomes frightened and must take the Dash action and move away from the user by the safest available route unless there is nowhere to move for two turns. Creatures with another creature between them and the shield or with partial cover have advantage on the saving throw, while creatures with full cover or that are blinded (or creatures that does not rely on traditional sight, like creatures with Blindsight) are immune.
Aegis Shield has 2 charges and regains all charges at dawn. If all charges are consumed, the shield turns black but returns to its original color at dawn when the charges are refreshed.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
