This crown resembles a chain of flowers plated in gold which shimmers with a warm glow. The flowers are Eranthis hyemalis, the winter aconite, a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. This small unassuming flower is one of the very first to appear at the beginning of the year.
When the crown is worn and the right command word is uttered by the wearer, the crown shoots out a bright and blinding ray of sunlight in a cone up to 30 feet in the direction the wearer is looking. Any creature in it's area of effect must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become blinded for 18 seconds (3 rounds). The creatures can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
The crown then emits a bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. The light is sunlight. While the crown light persists, you can use an action to expand or reduce its radius of bright and dim light by 5 feet each, to a maximum of 30 feet each or a minimum of 10 feet each. The light can be turned off as an action and can then not be used until a short rest, in which the wearer must meditate while imagining happy memories they have had in the sun.
Notes: Blinded, by anyone who has fond memories of being in the sun., Control, Debuff
