A sensible sized amethyst in the shape of a heart, is held gently by two silver gauntlets, which hangs on each end of a heavy silver chain.
Deep in the amethyst is a swirling cloud that expands and retracts in a rhythm similar to the beating of a heart. Donning this amulet and attuning to its magic, gives the wearer a sense of heartiness and increased constitution.
Attuning to the Amulet of Toughness imbues the wearer with effects described in the Toughness Feat. The wearers maximum hit points increase with double the wearers level. For every level attained after donning the amulet, the maximum hit points go up by 2. (The amulet has no effect on a creature/humanoid, that already has the Toughness Feat)
Beware, that the hit points gained from the amulet, are not stacked upon the existing maximum hit points, but are incorporated. Which means, if a wearer removes the amulet while on hit points equal or lower, than the amount the amulet adds, the wearer drops to zero and are unconscious.
The first time the wearer of the amulet is exposed to necrotic damage (while being in its neutral state), the amulet jolts and begins to shine with a reddish light. The amulet becomes The Amulet of Weakness and the wearer is now vulnerable to necrotic damage but gives the wearer the ability to cast the spell Vampiric Touch one time per combat.
Furthermore:
The first time the wearer of the amulet is exposed to radiant damage (while being in its neutral state), the amulet jolts and begins to shine with a blueish light. The amulet becomes The Amulet of indestructibility and the wearer is now resistant to radiant damage and gives the wearer the ability to cast the spell Shield one time per combat.
When the amulet is subjected to the opposite damage type, it reverts back to the neutral state, and awaits being charged. (e.g. when the amulet glows blue, and is subjected to necrotic damage, the amulet returns to purple. When it is next round subjected to necrotic one more time, the amulet turns red and stays that way, until it is subjected to radiant damage.)
