A coat made with heavy fabric, it is loose, knee-length, and sewn with golden thread. Designed to have a high, asymmetrical collar, it protects from cold weather, as the collar can be fastened around the neck to give extra protection from the wind. Two small opals are fastened on the inner side of the collar.
-
Once per day (resets at dawn), the wearer can cast Mage Armor on themselves without expending a spell slot from one of the opals on the collar.
The other opal allows the wearer to store 1 2nd level or lower spell in it, for later use. Flip a coin (1d4) to see if there is already a spell in it when the coat is found.
Any creature can cast a spell of 2nd level or lower into the opal by touching it as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored in the stone. If the stone can't hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect.
