Arifeldr - ᚨᚱᛁ ᚠᛖᛚᛞᚱ
It is said that there was once a Goddess of love and fertility, her name now lost to time. The tales tell that she admired mortals for their passion and honesty, watching their short lives play out and lamenting their deaths.
There was one mortal that she admired above all the others, a slave who had lived a hard life at the hands of cruel warlords. She watched him grow from boy to a man, and despite his life of slavery, she saw that he still held love in his heart. He did not laugh or smile, for such things would be beaten from him by his masters, but secretly, in the privacy of his own thoughts he would laugh and smile and dream and rejoice in the smallest of things.
After many years the slaves body had aged beyond usefulness to his masters and the goddess watched on in distress knowing that his next beating would be his last.
In the dead of night she flew down from the stars and wrapping her arms around him in protection, gifted him the freedom he had so long dreamed of.
In the morning the slave-masters were perplexed to discover that there was no elderly slave where they had left him chained up. There was however a majestic looking eagle, who laughed a high and mirthful cry, before taking off into the skies.
Of the Goddess, it was said that she was never seen again by mortal or god alike.
In the coming years people would note a strange occurrence; the birth of a child would often be foreshadowed by a sighting of two eagles, playfully frolicking in the skies high above.
A warm winter cloak adorned with eagle feathers covering the outward side. It is held in place with a polished silver clasp, itself designed to resemble a large feather.
This item has 3 charges and regains all charges at dawn
Once attuned to this item, the bearer can expend one charge in order to polymorph themselves into an Eagle for 1 hour.
Additionally, if the bearer of this cloak is reduced to 0 hit points (but not killed outright) then they are instead reduced to 1 hit point. This effect expends all remaining charges, and the cloak must have at least 1 charge for this to occur.
