Arcanist's Quill

This writer's quill is infused with a minor air elemental trained in scribing, and is used by busy wizards who cannot always afford the time to write down new spells. After attuning to the item, the spirit gains knowledge of the arcane shorthand you use for writing spells.

The quill has 5 charges. When copying a spell into your spellbook, you can speak the quill's command word to have it perform the copying for you. This uses a number of charges equal to the total level of spells you intend to copy. The time taken and cost of materials required are unchanged, but the quill performs the work for you. If the quill needs to make an Intelligence (Arcana) check to copy a spell from a scroll, it does so with a bonus of +7. The quill regains 1d4+1 charges after you finish a long rest.
