Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement by a Red, Brass, or Gold Dragonborn)

Fuel for the Pyre

This weapon grows along with the wielder. The weapon evolves at the DM's discretion. (Future versions will be different weapons)

Ashbrand glows, as if the user has a torch.

This weapon has a +3 to attack and damage rolls made against enemy targets.

The weapon scores a critical hit on a 19 or a 20

When attuned, this weapon now grants the wielder immunity to fire. Any fire damage taken grants the user an additional 1d6 of fire damage on their next melee strike. This effect ceases on hit, miss, or if combat ends.

Branding Iron

When attuned, Ashbrand deals an extra 2d6 of fire damage. On a critical hit, Ashbrand explodes in a radius of 10ft from the target, if an enemy is struck they must make a Constitution save with a DC equal to the users breath weapon +3. Upon a failed save, any enemy caught in the explosion receives 2d10 fire damage. On a successful save, targets take half damage.

Warmth of the Hearth

If any allies are within the blast radius of a Branding Iron explosion, they gain resistance to fire damage and deal an extra 1d10 fire damage on melee strikes till your next turn.

Dragon's Blaze

When attuned, Ashbrand now grants the user the ability to cast fireball at 6th level, at the cost of a charge. Ashbrand has 4 charges that refill upon long rest.

Ashes To Ashes

When attuned, Ashbrand now grants the user the ability to cast Meteor Swarm at 9th level, at the cost of 2 charges at once.

Ashbrand changes forms again, growing black as coal from the hilt to the base of the blade. The entire sword glows orange, and is hot to the touch. The blade is perpetually wreathed in fire that doesn't seem to be able to leave the surface of the blade. There are small orange gems embedded in the base of the blade that isn't covered in fire.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
