Wondrous Item, rare

Arcane mine is a stone and metal disc device with runes on top, that triggers once anything moves within 5ft. of Arcane Mine, letting out the damage type in a 20ft. radius. The type you choose determines possible additional effects, as well as the spell slot for the DC to save against Arcane Mine and take half. The metal and stone to craft the shape needed takes 1 hour, which is destroyed once the runes are triggered.

Arcane Mine is activated by using an Action to place and make an arcana check DC 14 on a success it charges up for 1 round before it's set. On a fail check it detonates only dealing half the damage as if it were triggered.
These Arcane Mines can be disarmed by a Dispel and an action to make an Intelligence check against the DC as if it were triggered. If failed it goes off at full effect.

These can be hidden by 1 foot of non-solid material as well for nothing that can damage the Arcane Mine runes.

The type of damage determines how long it takes to inscribe it.
Damage Type; time to inscribe the device

  • Fire - Cold; 1 hour
  • Thunder - Force; 2 days
  • Acid - Poison - Lightning; 4 days
  • Radiant - Necrotic - Psychic; 5 days

The types below show the additional effect applied to the Arcane mine when Triggered.
Damage Type; additional effect

  1. Cold - Lightning - Psychic; those that failed also are stunned for [roll]1d4+1[/roll] rounds.
  2. Thunder - Force; get pushed into the air and away by 10ft on a failed save or 5ft on a success.
  3. Poison; like a cloud that applies the poison condition and acts as Contact and Inhaled and remains for [roll]1d6[/roll] rounds.
  4. Radiant; those that failed are also blinded for 1 round.

You use the spell slot on the final minute to make it the Arcane Mine.
The spell slots used will determine the DC(12+spell slot level) with the minimum spell slot being 3rd level.
The level also applies the amount of dice used for when triggered. As 3rd level being [roll]12d8[/roll] the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.

Notes: Blinded, Stunned, Poisoned, These can be right in the 5ft. radius of each other but two people will need to do the check to not get triggered as well one will not trigger if the one next to it detonates., Damage, Debuff, Utility, Combat
