This platinum sapphire ring with the initials "A~d~T" inscribed along the inside band was found in a 'time capsule' concealed under a town square statue in the ruined city of Thundertree.
You initially identified it as 'Aribeth's Ring", a deteriorated spell resistance that grants the wearer advantage on saving throws against spells of only up to 2nd level in its weakened condition. The wielder senses the latent upper resistance limits (higher spell levels) that may one day be restored by a skilled enchanter's touch.
Before kicking you out of her shop for asking her about the half bone scissors, the ***** woman evaluated the ring and muttered something about, “Methinks Seldra Tylmarande may want a word or two with you about finding her great-great aunt, Lady Aribeth’s, long lost ring”, before collecting 300 gp to repair it for you as much as she was capable of, and increasing the spell resistance effect for advantage on up to 3rd level spells.

Mr. Wing, proprietor of a unique gift shoppe in Mirabar, examines the ring and shares the following with you about it:
- "Quite a delicate and lovely ring, Sire Drew, for as Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande may have worn it well, you it appears are wearing it even better. I have within me the power to restore its resistance to 4th level spells for the sensible sum of 5,000 gold. However, I must inform you that agents of Aribeth’s great, great niece, Seldra, have recently cast quite a wide net for it throughout the region, encouraged by the news of the ring’s resurfacing in Neverwinter."
