Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement)

Vardo's Wondrous Wagon is a well decorated and brightly painted living wagon. It has no windows with a door at the front of the wagon. The wagon has to be pulled by two horses. In order to enter the wagon a creature must be attuned to it. This attunement can not be broken by others and has to be willingly broken by the attuned creature. The attunement can also not be broken by prolonged distance from the wagon.

Much akin to a Bag of holding this living wagon has an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions. The inside of the wagon provides comfortable living space for up to 5 medium creatures and has a storage space that can hold up to a 1000 pounds. The wagon weighs 1800 pounds, regardless of its contents. The creature attuned to the wagon can provide access to any number of willing creatures it can see. This access lasts for 24 hours. A creature inside the wagon can always leave.

The wagon is highly enchanted and is receptive to certain spells at the DM's behest. A few examples follow: Casting Leomund’s Tiny Hut on the wagon will grant the wagon the properties of the dome. Casting Phantom steed at one level higher on the wagon will make two, instead of one, phantom steeds appear at the front of the wagon already hitched, instead of lasting 1 hour the spell lasts 8 hours. Casting Fly on the wagon provides it with a flying speed of 10 ft for 2 minutes. There are many more spells that could affect the wagon, talk with your dm to see which spells work if any.

If the wagon loses all its hit points it ruptures where it last got hit and is destroyed, and its contents are scattered in the Astral Plane. Breathing creatures inside the wagon can survive indefinitely unlike a bag of holding. The wagon has magical protection and has 178 hit points, an AC of 17 and has the following damage immunities: Poison, Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Non-magical Attacks.

Placing a Bag of holding, Handy haversack, Portable hole or similar item inside the wagon instantly destroys both the item and the wagon and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 20 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened. The wagon has a small secure storage space on the outside for such items.
