A pistol made by an ancient nation with knowledge long forgotten.
The holder has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
Loading. Because of the time required to load this weapon, the holder can fire only one piece of ammunition from it when they use an action, bonus action, or reaction to fire it, regardless of the number of attacks they can normally make.
On a natural 20, the pistol immediately fires another shot. The holder rolls for it as if it was the first shot.
On a natural 1, the shot explodes in the pistol hurting its holder (fire damage). If it's maximum damage, the pistol is also damaged and can't be used again until fixed.
It’s up to the DM to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook or Xanathar's Guide to Everything to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
Proficiency with a Pistol allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Loading, Range, Ammunition (Firearms), Vex
