Created on behalf of a certain rogue, who grew tired of carrying around so much equipment. This Item was commission to aid in the "pursuit" of their business. The enchanter that took the commission, decided to produce more of the item. It grew in popularity, until one day the enchanter and all their wealth diapered.
It was rumored that the rogue was someone who did not like to have extra completion.
While wearing this veil, you can use a bonus action to cause the veil to alter your and its appearance. This has the functionality similar to the Alter Self spell.
Adaptation. You adapt your body to an environment. You can breathe underwater and gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed. You can change you lungs to enable you to espouse breathing altogether.
Change Appearance. You transform your appearance. You decide what you look like, including your height, weight, facial features, sound of your voice, hair length, coloration, and distinguishing characteristics, if any. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your statistics change. You also can't appear as a creature of a different size than you, and your basic shape stays the same; if you're bipedal, you can't use this spell to become quadrupedal, for instance. At any time for the duration of the spell, you can use your action to change your appearance in this way again.
You have darkvision out to 60 feet as per the darkvision spell. Additionally you can't be targeted by any divination magic or perceived through magical scrying sensors.
