Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a sorcerer, Alabastra)

You are attuned to this vial that contains a mixture of your blood and a mucus-like substance. The vial can’t be opened without dispelling its magic and turning its content to ash. You can use the vial as a spellcasting focus for your spells while wearing or holding it, and you gain a +0 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your sorcerer spells.

In addition, when you roll any Hit Dice to recover hit points while you are carrying the vial, you can regain 5 sorcery points. You cannot exceed the maximum sorcery points allotted by your sorcerer level. This property of the vial can’t be used again until the next dawn.

At the end of combat during which you cast a spell, your head rings out in pain. You must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw (DC 12) or take 1d6 psychic damage as blood and mucus ooze from your facial orifices. Upon rolling a Natural 1, you fall to 0 hit points and drop unconscious and grasping your skull and screaming out in pain; if you are not stabilized within 1 minute, you die. Upon rolling a Natural 20, your Sustaining Vial’s bonus increases by +1 (maximum of +3). When at its maximum, you no longer need to make these rolls in combat; your condition is in long-term stasis (not remission).

Notes: Bonus: Spell Attacks, Bonus: Spell Save DC, sorcerer, Alabastra
