Armor (chain mail), artifact (requires attunement by a creature of non-evil alignment )

Ages ago, when Myth Drannor was still a thriving, elven metropolis, there lived an armorer named Aslyferund who fashioned fine elven chain mail by gilding and heavily enchanting normal elven chain. While in exile from Myth Drannor, Aslyferund learned the secret to fashion even more impressive armor from an ancient gold dragon.

Aslyferund gave the ancient gold dragon a gift of a bejewelled and gem encrusted crown. Touched by the exquisite craftsmanship of the crown, the dragon wept and in return, she tugged loose six of her golden scales - those that had been struck by her tears - and gave them to Aslyferund. Returning back to Myth Drannor, Aslyferund fashioned six suits of elven chain each with a gold dragon scale breastplate crafted from the scales she'd given him.

The suits of armor were like no others, and each bore Aslyferund's mark—three holly berries etched in gold, in the center of the chest. The suits were as light as leather, but much stronger and possessing of awesome protective magic. Alas, his refusal to divulge the secret of their manufacture lead to his murder by a rival smith named Grelifgray. All six suits of Aslyferund's armor went missing, and to this day the whereabouts of his other armors are a mystery.

Grelifgray's Curse. While you are attuned to the armor, artisans such as armorers, smiths and metal-forgers are always hostile toward you.

When you become attuned to the artifact, there is a 10 percent chance (rolls between 1 and 10 on a d100) that you attract the attention of an ancient red dragon. It first sends its minions to wrest the artifact from you and, if they are unsuccessful, later chases after you itself. The ancient red dragon only stops hunting you once it obtains the armor or is slain.
