The sleek, ebony wood, and silver inlayed design of the crossbow is misleading to most. The three sets of crossbow limbs it has running down its base, have no normal pull string. It’s almost translucent in a way. Applying any amount of force to the strings makes them glow under the pressure of touch. Pulling it back to its first notch causes it to glow a deep red color. Pulling the string passed the first notch causes it to slowly turn a yellow color, before clicking into place in the second notch. Pulling it beyond the second notch causes it to glow a brilliant white color, and you can feel immense power wanting to be expelled. Immense power that is only one trigger pull away.
Proficiency with a Heavy Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.

Posted Mar 4, 2023Sounds cool but does it just do the base damage of a heavy crossbow? The description makes it sound like the different pull levels do different things but all you describe was a light show.
