Weapon (crossbow, hand), very rare

This item was first seen in Episode 135 of Campaign 2 of Critical Role, "The Genesis Ward," and identified in Episode 138 of Campaign 2 of Critical Role, "Where There is a Will..."

This hand crossbow is made from darkened, like a slate-steel, metal, with runes that are put across the entire bow, becoming wider toward the base, with two discs at the end of it. It lacks a bowstring, with the bow slightly angled rather than outright curved. Rather than needing to be loaded directly, it allows placement of bolts along a channel, with gravitational force pushing it once a trigger is pulled.

If you miss an Attack with an Aeorian security cannon, you can use a reaction to activate the gravitational pull on the device and pull the actual object back in order to fire again as a second attack action.

Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.

Notes: Damage, Combat, Ammunition, Light, Loading, Range, Vex
