A bow of black stained wood inscribed with Elven engravings reading "Reveal what is hidden, Reveal what is hidden, Reveal..." all across it. Closer to the ends, the coloring becomes bright silver. Above and below the grip are tarnished silver inlays of winding vines of thorns. When the bow hits a target, once per turn, the shortbow gains one charge. When it reaches three charges, the next attack that hits bursts into thorny vines, entangling the target and any creature within 5 feet. The thorns deal an additional 2d6 necrotic damage to each creature. This ability can only be used once per short rest.
When you hit a target with this weapon, you may use your bonus action to cover the target in a purple light until the start of your next turn or until your next attack roll against the target hits. While outlined in this way, your attacks against the target have advantage and the target cannot benefit from being invisible in any way.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, and damage inflicted by the bow is considered to be Necrotic damage. The bow does not require ammunition, as a shadow arrow appears on the string when it is drawn, but it can use poisoned or other special ammunition if the wielder wishes to in place of the shadow arrows.
Proficiency with a shortbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
