This ring stores smites cast into it, holding them until the attuned user uses them. The ring can store up to 5 levels worth of smites at a time.
Any creature can cast a smite of 1st through 5th level into the weapon by touching the it as the smite is cast. The smite has no effect, other than to be stored in the weapon. If the weapon can't hold the smite, the smite is expended without effect. The level of the slot used to cast the smite determines how much space it uses.
While welding this weapon, you can cast any smite stored in it. The smite uses the slot level, spell save DC, and spellcasting ability of the original caster, but is otherwise treated as if you cast the smite. The smite cast from the ring is no longer stored in it, freeing up space.
Proficiency with a Flail allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
