Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a member of the Sun Empire who can cast spells)

This strange device is a combination of alchemical tinkering and ancient Ixalanian magics. The tower is a large crystal with silver, gold, and bronze rings around it set on a metal and lava stone support structure. This tower is made to be fitted to the top of a building, particularly the squared tower of a castle, fort, or temple. The tower has an extendable ladder and one seat. It only takes ten minutes to attune to the tower while sitting in the seat.

The tower has 100 hit points, an AC of 15, and cannot be affected by conditions.

While attuned and sitting in the seat, the crystal and rings can be adjusted. As a bonus action, you may aim the crystal and rings in a particular direction away from the tower (at the DM's discretion). As an action, you may spend a total of 15 spell slots to activate the tower. You do not need to be seated on it, but you must be able to see it. Once activated, the tower harnesses the remote power of the three suns of Ixalan and radiates that power in a ray for one minute. While active, the tower is invulnerable to all damage and cannot be turned off.

The tower's ray is a beam of radiance, fire, and lightning from the three suns of Ixalan that is 10 ft. wide and can travel up to 1 mile. Any creature that is in the ray when it is started, enters the ray after it has started, or begins its turn in the ray must succeed on both a dexterity saving throw and a constitution saving throw of 15 or take 10D6 lightning, 10D4 fire, and 10D8 radiant damage and are blinded, deafened, and frightened. A creature that succeeds takes half as much damage and is not blinded, deafened, or frightened. Additionally, spells and magical abilities have no effect within the ray.
