Wondrous Item, uncommon
A lime green shard that resembles colored stained glass. This shard is saturated with energies from laylines found deep in the underdark. When held you can feel a slight irritation on your skin from the acid like energy erupting from the shard.
- Over the course of 1 minute, you may hold this shard against a non-magical weapon. The shard melds into the weapon for the next 8 hours. For the duration, attacks with this weapon count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Once the duration expires the gem detaches from the weapon and turns to dust. You can only meld up to one shard per weapon.
- While the shard is melded with a weapon and you attack a target, you may choose to deal an additional 2d6 Acid damage. You may use this ability after you roll your attack but before you know the outcome. You can only use this ability once.
- Alternatively, as an action, you may crack the shard and throw it up to 60 feet, where the shard will detonate. Each creature within a 5 ft radius of the shard must succeed a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or suffer 4d6 Acid damage, half damage on a success. You can use this ability only if the shard isn't melded with a weapon. After the shard detonates, it turns to dust.
