Wondrous Item, rare

An arrow of entanglement is a magic ammunition, upon hitting a creature or a point in an area creates the effects of the Entangle spell cast at level 1 and lasts for 1 minute. If the hit target is a creature, the creature takes an additional 1d8 magical piercing damage as the arrow grows roots into its body. When inspected closely, the arrow appears to be made from weaving vines inscribed in rune carvings.

  • Grasping weeds and vines sprout from the area upon impact (ground, wall or mid air) in a 20-foot square starting from a point within range or from the hit creature. For the next minute, these plants turn the area into difficult terrain. A creature starting its turn in the area must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be restrained by the entangling plants until the spell ends. A creature restrained by the plants can use its action to make a DC14 Strength saving throw. On a success, it frees itself. On a a fail, target is restrained but can repeat the saving throw at the beginning of its next turn. After a minute the conjured plants wilt away.

If the hit target is a flying creature, the arrow creates a net like effect enclosing on itself in all directions then falls out of the sky including everything restrained within it. Once an arrow of entanglement is shot and the spell is released, it becomes a nonmagical arrow.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Restrained
