Potion, uncommon

This bottle of mostly clear liquid swirls with ribbons of soft sap from a particular genus of willow tree that only blooms during clear nights with bright moons. A few drops from the potion, dribbled on the tongue, will help one get a good night of rest, but if the entire potion is consumed the creature drinking it falls unconscious within seconds of finishing it. An unwilling creature can make a Constitution saving throw, DC 14, to shrug off the potion and avoid falling unconscious.

Any creature that consumes a full bottle of this tonic and falls unconscious remains so for 10 minutes. The effect ends early if the creature takes damage or someone uses an action to shake or slap it awake. If the creature remains unconscious for the full 10 minutes, that target gains the benefit of a short rest. Unfortunately the tonic is very draining on a creature and, regardless of whether they gained any benefit from consuming it, 4 hours after consuming it they gain a point of exhaustion. If they are in the middle of a long rest when the exhaustion affects them it is still reduced as normal upon completing the rest.
