The Alley Talons are a well made piece of weaponry. Bladed claws extend down the back of a wrist-mounted crossbow. The firing mechanism extends into a palm grip that can be triggered as part of an attack.
Gifted to you by Kugrash, the head of operations for the Broken Compass in Palebank Village. This vicious weapon can be used as a melee weapon with a ranged attack built into it. Whilst it suffers from reduced range and a temperamental firing mechanism, the ranged component doesn't suffer the usual drawbacks of firing in close proximity to your opponent.
Punishing Attacks: On a successful melee hit as part of the attack action, you can trigger the firing mechanism as a bonus action. You deal an additional 1d4 Piercing damage however when fired in this way, the projectile cannot be used like this until reloaded with a bonus action.
Experimental Design: If you roll a natural 1 on a melee attack roll made with the claws, the ranged component fires due to the hair-pin trigger. Make an attack roll for the projectile. When the projectile is fired in this way, the user cannot use the Punishing Attacks feature until the weapon is reloaded as a bonus action.
Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
