Weapon (longbow), very rare (requires attunement)

Carved from the rib of an ancient dragon, this longbow is lighter than a standard longbow and perfectly balanced. Intricate runes are carved into each tip of the bow, but it has neither string nor string nocks. When a creature attunes to the bow, the runes on each tip begin to glow softly and a thin beam of energy connects them to form the string.

When you roll a 20 on your attack roll with this magic weapon, the target takes an extra 7 damage of the weapon’s type. Additionally, being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls.

This weapon is powerful enough to sustain the energy of up to three shards of power. When attuned to the bow, different shards take on different effects:

Shadowfell Shard:

Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you can cause any number of creatures that you can see within 30 feet of you to take 1d10 necrotic damage. You regain hit points equal to the sum of the necrotic damage dealt.

You also gain the ability to step from one shadow into another. When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness.

Astral Shard:

On an attack roll of 18-20, the target takes an additional 2d6 radiant damage, which ignores any resistances or immunities.

Feywild Shard:

On an attack roll of 1-5, roll a d8 and consult the following table:

d8 Effect
1 For the next minute, you regain 5 hit points at the start of each of your turns.
2 You teleport 60 feet to an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see.
3 Maximize the damage of your next attack.
4 You regain 2d10 hit points.
5 For the next minute, you can teleport up to 20 feet as a bonus action on each of your turns.
6 A spectral shield hovers near you for the next minute, granting you a +2 bonus to AC and immunity to magic missile.
7 You can take one additional action immediately.
8 You gain resistance to all damage for the next minute.

Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
