It is not known how these amulets make their way into the world, but all those that experience them know they are tied to Yig, Father of Serpents.
While you wear this amulet, you and non-hostile creatures within 30' of you automatically succeed on death saves as their blood turns cold, and runs slowly like that of a serpent. Each time a death save is made through the benefit of this amulet, visions of a serpent wrapping around the world play through your mind, the warm embrace of a Father, holding back the fiends from outside. Vague knowledge of Yig is imparted upon them and grants a +1 to religion checks involved for knowing about Yig in the future (not cumulative).
On occasion, when unworn, these amulets are known to slither slowly across the ground, wrapping themselves about the necks of those that have fallen. How the amulet determines which to embrace and which to let perish is unknown.
