A staff once belonging to Auvreya, a hag who lived within the Dark Forest. Made of pure black true ice it is unknown of where it’s origins stem from. A constant black frost emits from the staff and those who wish to attune to it must grip it in their bare hands for an hour, letting the ice blacken their skin.
- While attuned to this staff the wielder becomes immune to cold damage and gains a +2 bonus to spell attacks.
- If the wielder of this staff casts a spell that deals cold damage they can choose to deal 1d12 necrotic damage to themselves and double that amount against their target in cold damage as the staff bolsters their spell with black frost.
- If a creature dies within 30ft of the staff their soul is absorbed into it and gives the wielder 1d12 temporary hit points that last until your next long rest. This effect can only stack up to two times.
Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
