The Apples of Hesperides are five perfectly shaped golden apples. They give off a dim light. The apples cannot be separated easily. If one apple is separated from the others deliberately, the creature causing the separation must make a Charisma saving throw DC 20. Failure means the creature takes 4d6 psychic damage and must cease the action. The Apples are not sentient, but are aligned with the God Phenax. Legends hold he gifted the Apples to a champion as a sign of his favour. The Apples were lost when the champion was eaten by the kraken Tomokratis. Tomokratis apparently regurgitated the Apples and then they were found by Caliphe on her adventures. They can be destroyed by being dissolved in the the blood of Arasta of the Endless Web.
Once attuned the Apples provide one major beneficial and one major detrimental property.
The attuned character has a Charisma of 20.
Attuned Characters who do not worship Phenax attract another minor detrimental property, and Phenax is aware the Apples are held by non-believer.
As an action the attuned character can hold up the Apples. All creatures within 600 feet who are not hostile need to make a DC20 Charisma Saving throw. Failure means they believe completely the next utterance from character presenting the Apples. Statements that are very unbelievable allow another saving throw. This can be used once per day. After using this power the Apples stop granting the beneficial power until after a long rest.
