This construction of twisted iron and cold steel by a mind on the brink of sanity has crafted something wholly otherworldly. Gripping this breach loading pistol is to feel footsteps across some distant grave and the power to make sure your enemy rests in it before you.
-This is considered a ranged martial weapon: Pistol.
-Unlike other pistols the tri-barrel can only fire 3 times before needing to be reloaded.
-Add an additional +1 to all attack and damage rolls.
-Creeping darkness: Attacks with this weapon do additional 1d4 necrotic damage.
-All the barrels: When the pistol is fully loaded, the user can force the gun to fire all chambers at once in a single attack once per long rest. Rolling once for all projectiles, if successful the damage is converted to 6d6 (piercing) +6d4 (necrotic). If the attack misses, the ability is wasted. After either result, the barrels must be reloaded to be used again.
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
