Weapon (longsword), artifact (requires attunement by a (n) elf or half-elf of neutral good alignment, the blade chooses who is worthy)

The moonblade has one rune on its blade for each master it has served. The first rune always grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Each rune beyond the first grants the moon blade an additional property. The DM chooses each property or determines it randomly on the Moon Blade Properties table.

Sentience. The Blade is a sentient artifact with an Intelligence of 18, Wisdom of 20, and a Charisma of 16.

The First Rune. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

The Second Rune. You have resistance against all magical damage while you have less than half of your hit points.

The Third Rune. Compulsion Rune. Grants the wielder a use of the Compulsion spell that renews after a Long Rest. The DC for the spell is equal to the Sword’s Wisdom modifier +8.

Beliefs of the Blade. This blade is uncomfortable with some forms of magic, viewing wizards and other arcanists with no small amount of distrust. On principle, the blade avoids arcane magic, viewing it as unsavory and domineering, and thus mostly practice druidic, clerical and lyrical magic.

If the blade rejects you, you make ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws with disadvantage for 24 hours.

The weapon communicates by transmitting emotions, sending a tingling sensation through the wielder's hand when it wants to communicate something it has sensed. It can communicate more explicitly, through visions or dreams, when the wielder is either in a trance or asleep.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, (n) elf or half-elf of neutral good alignment, the blade chooses who is worthy, Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
