Ring, uncommon

This ring appears to have a ruby set inside it. Ring had no magical properties on its own. When a spell is cast that has a gold price, PC can use ruby instead of gold price for spell use and the crystal is expended even if the material component usually isn't.

The ruby in the ring is merely a magical construct created by a fiendish loan shark named Akdevir ("Ahk-Dev-Ear"). Three days after using the crystal, Akdevir will send an Imp to collect the spell's amount of gold with 10% interest (ie 1,000 gold for resurrection = imp requires 1,100 gold). If PC gives gold cost without hassle, Imp may give new crystal for ring in hopes of furthering their cooperation. If PC can not/ refuses to pay, Akdevir will send more and more powerful fiends after PC to collect, with interest racking up as well (10% per 3 days past due), but Akdevir will happily take the soul of the borrower instead as another form of payout.
