Whenever you finish a long rest, you can magically tweak an arquebus you touch to give it a firing mode other than standard.
Roll a d6 on the table to determine the effect you implement into your arquebus's firing mode. You can create additional firing modes by expending a spell slot of 1st level or higher for each one. When you do so, you use your action to create the mode in an arquebus you touch, and you choose the effect from the Mode Table. Changing the experimental firing mode requires you to have alchemist’s supplies on your person, and any mode you create with this feature lasts until the end of your next long rest. When you reach certain levels in this class, you can make more modes at the end of a long rest: two at 6th level and three at 15th level. Roll for each mode's effect separately.

Effect |
| 1: Magehunter | Ignore bonuses granted to the target's armor class granted by any spell effects or charms. Roll a d20 with every shot you take. On a 1, remove one spell slot of the highest available from your spell sheet. |
| 2: Chronometron | On a hit, the target makes dexterity saving throws at disadvantage and has their movement statistic halved for 1d20 rounds. Rolling a 20 will give the target advantage on dexterity saving throws and double their movement for 20 rounds. |
| 3: Beacon | On a hit, the target suffers -2 to their AC for 1d4 rounds. This effect stacks. If the roll to hit is a 1, your AC drops to 0 for 1d4 rounds. |
| 4: Leech | On a hit, half of the damage dealt can be added to the shooter's temp HP. If the roll to hit is a 1, you grant the target Temp HP equal to the damage roll, and take half of that damage yourself. |
| 5: Flare | Every shot burns with a bright red energy that can be seen for miles if one has a direct line of sight. On a hit, deal 1d4 fire damage on top of the regular roll. The shot sheds bright light for 200 ft and dim light for another 400. |
| 6: Sabot | On any hit, deal half damage. On a critical hit, deal 20x damage instead of 2x damage. |
