Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement by a creature with proficiency with any martial weapon)

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon and a bonus 5 (1d8) radiant damage.  In addition the weapon has the following properties.

Transfigured Weapon.  As an action you can have Remriel change form to be any melee weapon which you are proficient with.  Doing so gives Remriel all the properties of that weapon and damage of that weapon plus 5 (1d8) radiant damage.

Planar Guardian.  If you use Remriel to reduce a creature to 0 hit points, and it would normally reform on another plane of existence, it is instead destroyed as though it were killed on its native plane.

Banishing Strike.  When you score a critical hit with this weapon you may have the target make a DC 17 Charisma Saving Throw or suffer the effects of the banishment spell.

Sentient.  Remriel is a sentient lawful good weapon with an Intelligence of 17, a Wisdom of 20, and a Charisma of 20.  It has hearing and normal vision out to 60 feet.  The weapon can speak, read, and understand all languages and communicate telepathically with its wielder.

Personality.  Remriel speaks with a kind but powerful voice capable of leading armies.  The personality in the sword is the same as the angel Remriel who wielded this sword during her life.
The sword's purpose is to protect the material plane from extra-planar invaders.  It specifically hates fiends, and seeks to defeat or destroy all fiends it comes across.  Though it will protect the feywild and shadowfell from extra-planar attacks, it will just as quickly fight against them in defense of the prime material plane.
Remriel will encourage its wielder to protect the material plane and its denizens at any cost.  If the wielder deliberately does not act to protect someone of the material plane, a conflict between it and its wielder will occur at the next dawn.
As you grow in character and relationship with Remriel, its magical properties will grow more powerful.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
