Ant Chitin Breastplate

This breastplate appears to be made of overlapping pieces of black and dark red chitin. These sturdy chunks have been attached to a poorly stitched homespun tunic that is awkwardly tight in some places and unusually loose in others. Clearly, the dust goblin craftsman that made this didn't believe in taking measurements. Still, the chitin of the giant ants found in the Crinna is durable and able to absorb certain harmful effects that might otherwise spell doom for the person wearing this breastplate. Hopefully a little armor polish will be enough to get the overwhelming scent of rotting meat out of the cloth portions of the breastplate. Hopefully.

Cumbersome: Due to either its weight or low-quality, this armor is difficult to wear even if a character has proficiency with items of this type. While wearing this armor, a character's DEXTERITY bonus isn't added to their overall Armor Class. In addition, they have DISADVANTAGE on Stealth Checks.

Gift of the Ants: For some inexplicable reason, the chunks of giant ant chitin comprising this armor are capable of absorbing poison to a certain extent. Perhaps it's the same unnatural power that imbued certain giant ants with the ability to spew cones of purple flame? Regardless, the character wearing this armor has RESISTANCE to all types of Poison Damage.

This armor consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this armor provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered.
